Small projects
Despite living in a basement flat our clients craved useable outdoor space. They had a very small garden, but it was difficult to reach up narrow concrete steps.
To create their garden the original walls and steps were removed, the area was excavated down to the level of the basement and new boundary walls built. But construction was a challenge as everything had to be carried through the basement flat and up the area steps.
The walls were rendered and painted and Balau hardwood was used for the slatted fencing and the deck. A plant mix of Box, Bamboo, Jasmine and an Acer completed the scheme.
Before and after
During – everything had to be dug out by hand, bagged-up and carried through the flat.
